First off, I don’t talk politics on this blog.
And I try to stay away from the tough subjects as that is not what this particular blog is for.
Family and Life in Las Vegas is a family blog.
However, given the fact that 9/11 had a heavy hand in the way I have led/lived my life, my husband’s life, and my son’s life, today I will post on this.
I have posted of deployments, 9/11 reflections, Veteran’s Day, and featured Picture the Fallen on my blog. It should be no secret I am a huge supporter of the troops and the reason they are currently fighting.
Where Were You When the news of Osama Bin Ladin’s death came out?
Well, I was actually in a movie, so I didn’t find out until after we were driving home.
But after I had a moment to sit and listen to President Obama’s speech, and reflect on my feelings, this is what felt the most true to me.
To those who lost a loved one on 9/11 and after, I hope today brings you a small amount of peace to the grief I am sure is still as raw as the day you heard the news.
And while we may celebrate this victory, let us never forget those who lost their lives serving this country, and let us not forget that there are still others overseas who continue to fight for our freedom.
They continue to fight so that I might hear what I did tonight when I put my son to bed. “I love you Mama.”
God Bless, Never Forget, please continue to Support.

It was actually this morning when hubby (who recently returned from a year deployment) woke me up saying “TODAY is a GREAT day!!!”
We were watching a movie last night and turned the tv off right afterwards so we missed the news!
God Bless America!

Well put! I have etched in my brain: “For God & Country: Geronimo, Geronimo, Geronimo!” If you don’t mind: I have posted a photo of the Situation Room on my small blog to remind all to think twice when their day at the office seems “stressfull” This picture says a thousand words! Rejoice!
