Easy to Decorate Pumpkin Craft

October 9, 2012 By Samantha 25 Comments

Hello everyone! I am back with another fun simple craft for you today! With October upon us and all the Halloween decorations coming out, I figured a cute easy pumpkin project would be so fun to share with you all.

This project took me literately 10 minutes top to make! So don’t think that you will need all day just to make a cute decorated pumpkin! If you are anything like me and can’t carve a pumpkin to save your life, this will be the perfect project for you!

Here are the items I used:

"Decorate Pumpkins" "Halloween Pumpkin Craft" "DIY Pumpkin decorations"

  • Pumpkin
  • Adhesive vinyl (can substitute cardstock or regular computer paper, or even stickers)
  • Halloween themed ribbon

I started my project by searching online for a fun font. I found one called Cute Tattoo from 1001freefonts.com and downloaded it to my computer. Once downloaded, I added it to my computers font folder so that I could use it in all my programs.

I choose to use a die cutting machine to cut out letters, but you could just as easily print out the letters on cardstock or regular paper and hand cut the letters with scissors. I cut my letters at 3 inches tall.

Once the letters were cut out, I simply placed them directly onto my pumpkin!

Once my letters were all attached, I topped the pumpkin off with some ribbon around the top of the pumpkin.

What I loved about this project that it was so easy and fast! I also love how easy it would be for anyone to complete no matter your access to craft supplies. If you donโ€™t have a die cutting machine, you could easily pick up a package of large letter stickers to use, print and cut out the letters from your printer (you could even use a ยฝ page label so that your paper is already sticky!) and the possibilities go on. One other idea I had was to use a hot glue gun and buttons to make my letters directly on the pumpkin. I also have added a listing to my etsy shop for a package of the adhesive vinyl letters!

Let me know if you like this easy to decorate pumpkin, and if you make your own, please tweet @FamilyNLifeLV and @samanthascricut with your finished pumpkin! Please donโ€™t hesitate to reach out to me if you have any questions about this process, or you want clarification! Thanks for the inspiration. We painted our pumpkins, then it rained and the boys got all excited because they get to paint them again. Guess next time I should not use washable paint ๐Ÿ™‚
