Redecorating Our Home | Modern Bathrooms

January 2, 2013 By Emily 17 Comments

We often talk in the new year about things we hope to accomplish or resolutions we make.  My husband doesn’t know it yet, but this year I would really love to redecorate our home just a little bit!  I have talked about my home decoration to do list here in the past, but I really hope that this is the year that I am able to cross a few things off my list.

I’d really love to start with my master bath and our sons’ bathroom.  While our fixtures are nice, they don’t quite meet the modern bathroom look that I would like to have.

Bathroom

You can’t see it here but I would really love to have our light fixture match our faucet hardware.  I would also really love to add some paint to both bathrooms as well.  I think the boys bathroom would look great in a blue, and ours would be nice in a grey.

Once I finish our baths I’d really like to focus on the living room.  Of course the first thing I have to do before any of this would be to finish the nursery!  Baby D will be 4 weeks this week, and his nursery still looks like a storage space.  A storage space with furniture.

Have you ever re-done your bathrooms?

Any tips or advice?

I haven’t remodeled any room in my house. We bought the house new in 2004 and couldn’t justify changing anything because it was new. Eight years later and we’d love to redo the kitchen and update the bathrooms with tile, a glass shower and paint. I don’t know if we ever will, we need a bigger house with all the kids we have now!

in our old house we redid 2 bathrooms and our kitchen, we installed hardwood floors throughout and replaced a mantle and hearth. We even got rid of a window. We did a ton there.

We re-did our half bath but not either of our fulls. I opted for a pedestal sink and a relaxed, calm neutral color scheme.

Our bathrooms are one thing we have not gotten to in the house yet. Really need to though.

My bathroom is one of the rooms I actually did manage to redecorate this year, nothing major just new decorations, rugs, curtains, etc. Can’t wait to see it

I have done so much home remodeling that I am tired of it. It looks like we’ll be doing it again soon though since we’re trying to sell our house and buy a new one. Gah. Make sure you get paint that will deal with the wet environment of the bathroom.
