Handmade Kids Valentines Card

February 8, 2013 By Samantha 23 Comments

Hello everyone! I have such a fun and easy craft to share with you today that is perfect to do with your kids!

I started with some awesome products that were provided to me from Craftprojectideas.com  to complete my sons valentines. This product line is perfect for using with kids as that is what it is designed for! It is also a product line that can only be found at your local Wal-Mart.

The items I used were:

  • Red felt
  • red crayon
  • pencil and pen
  • construction paper (any paper will work)
  • blank card base size A7 (you can easily make your own using any paper!)
  • scissors
  • glue stick

Start by tracing your child’s hand on the construction paper. I did both hands so that I could pick out what one looked best once I had them cut out.

Next, cut out the construction paper hand, and use it as a template to trace the hand onto the felt and then cut the hand again from the felt. When I cut out the felt, I cut on the inside of the pen line so that non was left on the felt when I had my finished hand cut out.

You are going to be using the cut out hand to make the American Sign Language sign for “I Love You”.  Start by putting glue all over the back of the hand – except the middle 2 fingers – and place on the front of your card base. Once attached, place some glue on the front side of the fingers and curl them down and hold until they attach.

You can now have your child finish decorating the card!

My overall satisfaction with the craftprojectideas.com products was great! They were very good quality products that I will for sure purchase in the future for more crafting fun with my boys! Not only are they great quality, but they are also very affordable. Most of their products are available for under $5! Another thing that I really was impressed with is the project finder on their website! It makes finding a project that is not only fun, but age appropriate!

Let me know what you think of my sons hand-made valentine, and if you make one with your child make sure to leave me the link so I can come see yours!
