Simple DIY Chalkboard Frame

January 18, 2013 By Samantha 22 Comments

Hello everyone! I am back with a fun, but simple craft! You don’t have to have a craft bone in your body to complete this craft! And with just 4 simple items. ๐Ÿ™‚

The items you will need are:

*A frame with the glass removed
* Chalkboard card stock (I used DCWV brand)
*Scissors or paper cutter
*Pen or pencil

My first step was to select what color chalkboard I wanted to use. Once that was selected, I took the back piece of the frame and lined it up with the corner of my paper, and traced the 2 sides that would need to be cut.

Next, I cut the chalkboard card stock along the lines I had just traced.

Next, place the chalkboard card stock into the frame and place the backing piece back into the frame and secure!

Last, take chalk and use your new chalkboard frame!

And you are done!

Like I said before, it doesn’t take much crafting abilities to complete this very simple craft! Have fun with it by scouring thrift shops, garage sales and your local unique shops for fun funky frames to use to make your own chalkboard frame! The DCWV chalkboard paper comes in a 12 x 12 stack, so as long as your frame opening is smaller than that you shouldn’t have a problem with the paper fitting into your frame! If you would like to purchase one please visit my etsy shop.
