Tots Bots EasyFit V4 Cloth Diaper Review

July 27, 2014 By Emily 3 Comments

Is there anything better than fluffy mail? I think not! So when I received the Tots Bots EasyFit V4 cloth diaper to review I was pretty excited! In the 19 months that I have been cloth diapering baby D I have become pretty selective about which brands we use. Tots Bots V3 (which is now discontinued) is easily in my top 3 favorite diapers so trying out the latest version was pretty much a no brainier for me!

Actually, we got this diaper some time ago, but in order to give it the best review possible, we had to wait as my son was experiencing an awful diaper rash due to his food allergies, but once that cleared up we put it on and tested it out!

D got to try out the new Hey Diddle Diddle print (one of 5 nursery rhyme inspired prints), and the first time we put it on, D sat pointing at the cows saying “Moo! Moo! Moo!” over and over so I guess you can see he was a fan of the print!

About the V4 Easy Fit:

The Tots Bots diapers and products are manufactured in their own factory in Glasgow, Scotland. They work hard to be sure they are sustainable and ethically produced.  Similar to the V3 Tots Bots we own these are a “birth to potty” all-in-one diaper made for babies from 8lbs-35lbs. They are adjusted using the 2×2 front snaps. The new EasyFits come with just a hook & loop fastening. Previously we’d only owned the snaps Tots Bots but my major complaint with them was they were hard to snap, so I was fine with the hook and loop closure.

The biggest change in the V4 is that the absorbent inner fabric is made of “binky”. Binky is a combination of bamboo and minky. It has a fold out core to help aid in drying time, and it comes with an additional snap in binky booster for extra absorbancy.

Fit:

The V4 EastFit is one of the most fluffy diapers we own.  So, if you are used to the V3 this is going to seem very bulky to you. With or without the addition the snap in binky booster it is certainly a very fluffy bum, which is very different from the V3 extremely slim fit. However, I personally would trade absorbancy for slim fit any day and I love a good fluffy bum. Just know that if you are looking for a slim diaper, this isn’t the diaper for you.

Easy of Use:

It really doesn’t get any easier than hook and loop, and being an AIO diaper this is a very user friendly diaper. My husband always reaches for it when it is clean, and I try to leave this one out for the babysitter. Since the additional booster snaps in place, you don’t have to worry about it slipping around when you are putting on the diaper. The only annoyance for me the laundry tabs were a pain in my tush! I couldn’t get them to stay down after the 2nd wash. Not a huge deal, but not awesome either. The fast drying time pretty much makes up for that in my eyes.

Performance:

As a daytime diaper this diaper can certainly hold up to the moving, diving, climbing, and crawling my toddler demands of his diapers. We have never had a leak in this diaper, even without the additional booster. The only thing I can’t evaluate is the containment of solids… Despite having been on my son’s bum at least 15 times it has not been put to the poop test.

Performance with second insert

Add that snap in binky booster and this diaper can handle extra long naps, and even held up during our overnight experiments. I love the combination of bamboo and minky. My V3 diapers were so far from overnight diapers. While I loved them, they weren’t even great naptime diapers, so this change in the V4 makes me pretty happy!

Patterns:

I love the 5 nursery rhyme prints. I personally think they are all fine for boys or girls!

I’d really love to add all of these patterns to my stash!

Price: $24.95 solids/$26.95 prints

If there is one thing I’ve learned in cloth diapering is that you tend to get what you pay for. (The exception that would be prefolds/flats.) If you buy cheap diapers, you are going to get a cheap diaper. These diapers are very high quality, so I personally don’t mind paying for a few of them in my stash. Especially for their ease of use! You can buy it on Amazon or many cloth diaper retailers!

Check out my video for more information on this diaper!

Overall: A-/B+ I have already purchased another one of these diapers to add to our stash, and I wouldn’t mind adding more! Cute prints, good fit, easy to use, absorbent, and SUPER fluffy!

This diaper is amazing, honestly, we can even use it overnight with the booster it comes with. I loved my V3s for the prints, but found they weren’t absorbent enough. The V4s are perfection.

Thanks for this review! I’ve read some of the Tiny Fit, but not of the Easy Fit. Very helpful, thanks!

I LOVE THIS DIAPER!! I just got the stretchy wrap in the mail a few weeks ago, and i must say…its amazing. The texture is like no other . Now after watching your awesome reveiw I want to buy the v4. Ive always kinda “shunned” AIOs because when i first started CD I used prefolds and covers. I fugured all in ones were too hard to clean and we would be hand washing for the first few months. It worked out that we got a washer and dryer before our daughter was born, but i still never wanted AIO, untul the v4..
