First Day of School Subway Art + Free Kindergarten Printable

August 19, 2014 By Emily 22 Comments

I’m pretty obsessive about taking pictures of my children. I just feel like I need and want all their special memories on film to look back on and enjoy as they grow up.

My son’s first day of Kindergarten is a pretty big deal to me. He will be full day in school now and I wanted to do something special to mark the moment so I reached out to my friend Becca who is a designer and owns Jumping Jax Designs. I love this first day of school subway art that she did custom for my little man.

She created this unique first day of school subway art for my son based on who is is right now. I love it. I can’t wait to take his picture with it, and then save it forever.

For a pretty small fee she can create a custom sign for your child no matter what grade they are starting! Just email Becca at jumpingjaxdesigns(@)gmail.com.  Let her know you are inquiring about the subway art from Our Knight Life what you’d like to see filled in the boxes and she will have it ready via digital copy for you to print out for your child’s first day of school.

My daughters are in 6th and 5th grade now. I see some really cool ideas shared on Facebook these days of First Day of Kindergarten and wish I had done something like that when my girls were little.

This is super cute. Our kids started school again yesterday. They are in 2nd, 5th, and Zeva technically isn’t really in anything, but she thinks she’s in preschool.

I only have one going back to school–she’s a teacher in a high school now. She teaches biology and special ed students. She took a back to school photo for me this year too!

That is so sweet. I wish I had been able to think about doing something like this each year when my boys were younger.

I love who ever started this trend of taking pictures of the kids on the first day of school with the sign…but I love it. I started it two years ago for my then-kindergartener who is my oldest, now he will be starting second grade soon and my daughter kinder. I just made them on construction paper last year but I might step it up this year, lol

My kids started school this week. 🙁 I didn’t do anything nearly as adorable as that subway art. I told my kids once things calm down we can do a back to school photo shoot.
