Weekly Family Menu #MealPlanning

February 25, 2013 By Emily 14 Comments

Last week I did really good with our meal plan.  We stuck to it pretty much to the letter, save that instead of making stuffed peppers with the left over Picadillo we just ate it as it was!  The Picadillo and Asian Pork with Mushrooms were both a big hit with my boys!

In addition to sticking to my menu plan, I was also down 2 lbs this past week at my Weight Watchers meeting.  Slow but steady!

This week I turned to my Weight Watchers cook book to seek out some new recipes to try!  I love doing weeks filled with new recipes especially when I feel like we need a little variety in our home.  Since I am trying to lose weight, new recipes give my family a healthy meal and keep me from going back to the old heavy comfort foods.

All my recipes this week will be from this book.  I love this book because all the recipes are 8 points or under!

"Cookbook" "Weight Watchers Recipe" "Weight Watchers"

This week’s Family Menu:

"Meal Planning" "Family Menu Plan" "Food"

Sunday: Sandwiches & Salad

Meatless Monday: Fettuccine with White Beans and Roasted Peppers

Tuesday:  Beefy Black Bean Chilli

Wednesday: Leftovers

Thursday: Chinese Chicken Legs

Friday: Eat Out (My sister is in town!)

Saturday: Leftovers

Sunday: Sandwiches & Salad

What is on your menu this week?  Do you have a favorite cookbook?

I flit from cookbook to cookbook, but for baking, I do have a favorite cookie book. I don’t use it that often, but it’ll always be my fave because it’s OLD!

I meal plan every Saturday and can honestly not live without it now. This week we’ll be having tacos, white chicken artichoke lasagna and pork roast 🙂

Your menu sounds good. Since it’s the end of the month, we’re eating a lot of casseroles. This weekend though, I’m taking the hubs out to a Japanese tepenyaki for his birthday.

I have not really planned much this week. I have started wondering if I would actually save money if I planned 2-3 days at a time. I find that I get a little too ambitious when I try to buy a week at a time and too much ends up going to waste.

Everything is very open with a very clear
explanation of the issues. It was definitely informative.
Your website is extremely helpful. Many thanks for
