Music Provides Children With Keys to Learning | Camp @KidvilleLV

Plato was a smart man.  Music plays a very important part in my son’s life.  From the moment he was born he would “hum” himself to sleep.  We used to laugh at it, I mean what newborn hums?  My Squishy did.  As he got older he would sing himself to sleep.  It really is one of my favorite things to listen to.

Now that he is three is learning songs and rhythms.  He is dancing, playing, and singing along.  At Camp Kidville at Tivoli Village in Las Vegas, my son loves music time.  It is a time for him to let loose and enjoy being a child, but what he doesn’t realize is that he is learning through the music.

Everyday at the end of camp after gym time fun, art projects, and science experiments for toddlers, the campers go in to sit and have snack.  While they do so, TJ comes into sing and play his guitar.

TJ is a wonderful asset to Kidville, in fact my son recently saw Elvis on TV and told me that it was TJ!  Squishy’s face lights up when TJ comes into the room, and enjoys singing along with him.  TJ plays a variety of songs for the kids from classic toddler tunes to some more contemporary choices including Jason Mraz.

The kids play with scarves, rhythm shakers, and dance to their little hearts content.  This is the perfect way to end a day at camp!

Camp Kidville is currently just 1/2 way through the summer semester! There is still plenty of time to register for 2, 4, or 8 weeks of camp!

How fun! There’s a music class I’ve been meaning to sign up for with my Little guy because I know how beneficial it will be for him.

Sounds like they are good at having the kids learn things without them realizing the are learning. That’s the best!
